Therapy Designed for You
At Portobello Behavioural Health, your preferences and personality always matter.
That’s why we adopt a holistic, integrative therapeutic approach that allows us to design treatment around each client’s specific needs.
We work across multiple clinically rigorous modalities—including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, and experiential therapy—to deliver effective, individualized treatment tailored to the individual.
The duration of therapy is up to you. We offer both short-term and long-term therapy, as appropriate.
It’s very common to find that multiple members of the same family could all benefit from counseling. Our team is usually able to coordinate family care for multiple family members, providing a stream-lined, cohesive treatment plan not only for the individuals involved, but also for the family unit as a whole.
We Make it Easy to Get Started
Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, but our therapists make the process easy.
The rapport between therapist and client—called the “therapeutic alliance”—is essential. After we’ve matched you with a therapist, you’ll have the opportunity to meet them, ask questions, and ensure that they’re a good fit for you and your needs.
At that appointment, your therapist will also make an in-depth assessment of your challenges and goals. They will also collaboratively determine the modality and treatment duration that will best serve you and your situation.
